No pictures.

Sorry about no pictures, the sad news is the seven year old laptop needs to be replaced even more urgently, last week we had a new modem and TV box but unfortunately it means I cannot connect to the Internet from my laptop. We had no warning that this would happen from the guy who installed the modem, changed settings on two mobile phones, two iPads, one netbook, two iPods, one laptop (Ian's) but he wasn't able to do so on mine.

It doesn't help that I delete pictures from the camera once they are on laptop, I have a couple of pictures taken on my phone, have emailed them to myself but cannot work out to add them here.

So, there are no pictures of 384 hexipuffs waiting to be joined together, so delighted I have made enough to theoretically make a quilt of 3 x 4 feet; no pictures of our lovely lawn, you have missed the stripes as there has been enough growth for everything to blend together; you have missed the pictures from the Thames Cable Car, such a wonderful form of transport and highly recommended for all who visit London, travel there and back by River Bus or Docklands Light Railway and finally you are missing any record of my attempts to crochet a cover for the cafetiere  as this is my replacement public transport yarn working project.

Now for something that doesn't require a picture. Amongst many of the drugs and medication that I take each day is calcium and vitamin D tablets. These are supplied either in a tub or in a cardboard carton with silver paper protecting the pills so why do those in the tub require me to take them after meals whereas those in the packet are to be taken before food? Both sets of instructions stress the tablets must be crushed and taken with a glass of water, which I do as it helps to take the taste away.

Will sign off as need to boil up milk to make yogurt, it can quietly turn from liquid milk to a honeycomb of loveliness overnight.

Home thoughts

Well it's been a busy time at Pixie Towers since the last blog for the old fireplace from which heat never came has gone to give us warmth and more space in our lounge. From this:-

to this, clear of clutter, more space

After the installation of the fire, the decorators came, I was under the impression they were here to decorate around the new fire, they were, but also the hall, stairs and landing. Needless to say no preparation had been done for this so all 'stuff' was moved to the nearest room so the whole house was in chaos whilst acquiring a veneer of dust that rubbing down old paintwork produces.

Having said that we have been propelled into a frenzy of decluttering, this is a small example of unwanted 'treasure' on its way to the charity shop, some may recall petrol station glasses, we had a goodly collection.

Today two mirrors went to help the finances of the local hospice; a large collection of plastic carrier bags went to a local independent shop - This 'n' that - sells everything from plants to pie dishes via acrylic yarn and cleaning materials. Prices are keen, no cards, cash only, no fancy bags, no junk, good service as the owners know their stock so the store is always busy. Just the sort of store for our local high street, bought a second bag of supersoft toy filling, the first one filled 371 hexipuffs, and with 14 to make, another bag was needed.

More decluttering needed, both stuff, clothes and photographs.
